Brief chronicle of S.N.L. activities

Società Navigazione dei Laghi s.r.l. is born in 1997 from the idea of Sandro Bandinu, entrepreneur that comes from Serramanna (a small village in the Campidano area), who has since ever a big passion for navigation and is already manager of a similar tourist activity in Villasimius (passengers transport over boats).

The idea to organize also in Sardinia navigation over the lakes with tourist purposes came in 1998, when S.N.L. (member of “Consorzio Turistico dei Laghi”) proposed a project for passenger transport over lakes “Mulargia” and “Medio Flumendosa”.

After the approval of this project, the procedure to gain all authorisations began and in June 2000 the S.N.L. has been authorised to navigate over that lakes. As there wasn’t yet the “Registri per la navigazione sulle acque interne” (Registers for navigation on inner waters, essential to work regularly), in 2003 the boats were registered in the registers of “navi minori e galleggianti in costruzione” (small boats and floating in construction) at the Harbour-office in Porto Torres.

Finished the constructions, during the period August-October 2005, the boats were taken to pieces, transported and assembled again, one in each lake. Then many tests were made, before the Bureau Veritas gave all necessary certifications.

After some more bureaucratic passages, in September 2006, the authorisations have been grant, so the first licence for navigation in inner waters of Sardinia has been assigned.
